Job description
I am currently looking to support flexible and enthusiastic Graduates, passionate educators and unqualified teachers in securing day to day supply and long-term cover work as a Cover Supervisor for our Secondary Schools in the Kimberley area of Nottingham.

You do not need to be an experienced Cover Supervisor but must have some form of classroom based or coaching/tutoring experience with young learners. You must have a passion for Education, the ability to effectively manage behaviour and the willingness to learn on the job.

I can offer full time or part time hours with roles ranging from daily bookings to long term assignments covering all subjects across the curriculum if you prove yourself to be an effective, valuable and committed practitioner we can look into offering a guaranteed work contract, too!

So, what is the role of a Cover Supervisor?

In the absence of the usual class teacher you will be in charge of supervising a classroom in a Secondary School setting, the work will be left for you by the class teacher and your role is to set the work for the students ensuring they remain on task throughout the lesson
Facilitating a variety of subjects based on the planning left for you by the regular class teacher
Supporting students with their work on a 1:1, small group and most commonly whole class basis
Ensuring all students in your care are safe, staying on task and behaving in line with the school's behaviour policy
Covering a variety of lessons within KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Year 7 to 13)

Is it for me?

Do you hold a University qualification and looking to gain more education-based experience before applying for your PGCE or equivalent?
Are you experienced as a tutor or sport coach?
Perhaps you're FE trained and considering teaching at Secondary level
You must be a clear and confident communicator with the ability to inspire and motivate pupils
Be flexible in receiving work on a day to day basis (at least 3 days per week) or longer-term basis
Have access to your own transport (desirable but not essential)
Must be reliable, efficient and trustworthy

Working for Protocol Education you can expect:

To work with a dedicated and honest Secondary Consultant that has a sound knowledge of what it means to be a teacher with over 10 years experience in Education
Professional and organised structure with plenty of continual professional development opportunities (CPD) - Safeguarding, TeachTeach, Cover Supervisors workshops etc
A clear and easy to use timesheet system with weekly Friday pay
Working for a well know, trusted and respected Education leader with strong links with Lincolnshire schools and colleges
Fair pay in line with National Living Wage
The opportunity to work towards a guaranteed work contract

£250 will be paid if you are able to successfully recommend a Teacher to Protocol who then joins us, you can make as many recommendations as you like! £50 reward for Cover Supervisor recommendations.

Registration involves an enhanced DBS check, ID checks and will require you to supply good professional references. We pride ourselves on excellent service.
