Job Published: over 1 year ago

Are you looking for a support role within a School? I am working with a number of Schools in Sussex who are recruiting for Cover Supervisors in SEN settings for daily, short term and long term positions.

If you have some experience of working with secondary aged children, either within a school setting or tutoring experience then this could be the ideal role for you!

You will be responsible for taking classes across the age range of key stage 3-5 for absent teachers and will be expected to provide instruction to the class as directed by the class teacher. You are NOT required to teach the lesson, you are there to ensure the students are completing the set work and collecting in the work at the end of the lesson.

You will maintain good order, keep students on task and foster positive relationships with them as a professional role model.

You will be expected to register each class at the beginning of each lesson. You will be expected to cover a range of subjects.

You will be responsible for the behavioural management of the class, including praising of good behaviour. The key skills it takes to be a cover supervisor are confidence, punctuality and organisation.

Cover Supervising is a great opportunity for anyone aspiring to become a teacher, or someone who wants to gain more experience within an educational setting.
