Protocol Education are recruiting for Entry Level Graduates to work in Secondary Schools across Tyne and Wear as a English and Maths Cover Supervisor. This is a fantastic opportunity for any graduate who is considering a career in teaching. This well regarded school is willing to support any aspiring teacher with additional training and support to aid them in their new role as cover supervisor which in turn will support their future ITT/PGCE/SCITT applications.

We are looking for applicants who are confident communicating with children, can think on their feet and reshape and adjust to situations well. 

You must be available to work Monday-Friday (full-time, in term time only). The successful cover supervisor is likely to be required until at least July 2023.

The roles are entry level positions and no previous experience is required. Many of our previous graduate cover supervisors have gone onto a successful career in teaching or furthered their studies in educational or forensic psychology and this has given them a key opportunity for paid experience.

The role:

  • Cover classes in the abscence of the teacher with pre-planned work.
  • You will be expected to accompany and support children in all their lessons, including English and Maths.
  • Ensure safeguarding is met at all times
  • A good level of numeracy and literacy is required, but in-depth subject knowledge in any area is not essential. We are looking for personality and transferable skills.

Requirements:

  • University degree 
  • Be able to work Monday-Friday
