Job description
Cover Supervisor Jobs – Immediate starts available in Canterbury, East Kent!

Are you looking to move into a teaching career or do you simply love working with children?

If you have experience working with secondary age children and you want to take that experience into a secondary school then a cover supervisor role may be the right job for you! You could be a youth worker, a higher level teaching assistant, a sports coach or an FE or overseas trained teacher looking for a new challenge.

I am working with schools in Canterbury, East Kent to recruit a number of roles. Applicants looking for permanent, contract or temporary roles will be considered as will candidates looking for the flexibility of daily supply work.

A cover supervisor is a classroom based role supporting a qualified teacher or covering for a qualified teacher in their absence. You will not need any subject specialism although if you have it will be a benefit. You will offer support across all areas of the curriculum and with age groups from year 7 to year 13. You will deliver pre-planned lesson material and supervise behaviour during class whilst ensuring that a safe and inclusive learning environment is maintained. You will not be expected to plan, prepare, mark or assess work. For those candidates with a passion for working with children but without the qualifications this can be an ideal role.

The successful candidate could be a current cover supervisor, a HLTA, a sports coach, learning mentor, pastoral support worker or someone with equivalent experience supporting groups of secondary age students.

In order to succeed in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

Ability to work with groups of students of secondary age

Strong behaviour management

Ability to follow policies including behaviour management and rewards

Flexibility in approach to classroom delivery and learning material

Willingness to embrace new technologies in the classroom
