We are currently seeking a Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and supportive school in the Rotherham area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or education professional looking to develop their career within a secondary school setting.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Supervise classes in the absence of their usual teacher.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students remain engaged with their work.
• Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment.
• Manage student behaviour in line with the school's policies.
• Support students with their learning and encourage them to complete assigned tasks.
• Take attendance and report any issues to relevant staff.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding lessons and student behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral and support team.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school setting.
• Is confident managing groups of secondary-age students.
• Has strong communication and classroom-management skills.
• Is calm, professional and able to remain composed in challenging situations.
• Can follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.
• Is organised, reliable and punctual.
• Is passionate about supporting students' education and development.
• Is committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
