As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be the steady presence in the room when teachers are away. No planning marathons. No late-night marking. Just clear instructions, confident delivery, and keeping learning on track.

We’re working with welcoming secondary schools in Barnsley looking for confident, organised individuals who can step in, lead a classroom, and keep things moving.

If you’ve got presence, common sense, and a calm approach, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supervising pre-set lessons across KS3 and KS4

• Managing classroom behaviour with confidence and clarity

• Ensuring students stay focused and complete set work

• Reporting back to teaching staff at the end of the day

• Supporting pupils who need a little extra guidance

You won’t be expected to teach new content. Your role is about consistency, structure, and creating a calm learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
