Core Subject Catch Up Teachers - West Leeds

Location: Leeds
Job Type: Contract
Industry: Secondary Teacher
Reference: PE11283452
Salary: £120 - £200 per day
Job Published: 15 days ago
With the large gap out of education, schools are needing more support than ever before to help their students catch up on missed learning.
I am working with several schools in West Leeds who are recruiting for core subject teachers, who would be able to start placements as soon as the summer term, into the next academic year.

Teachers within these positions would have a timetable of classes as well as allocated time to work with small groups of students, highlighted to have fallen behind and to run intervention sessions for year 11 and year 13 students.

Applicants need to hold QTS in Maths, English or Science and be able to confidently teach at least to GCSE level. Holding experience teaching KS5 is preferable but not essential. These positions are suitable for both Newly Qualified Teachers and experienced teachers.

Strong behaviour management is essential for this role, to be able to effectively re-focus students following the large disruptions to learning and routine. A strong capability to provide appropriate pastoral support and hold awareness for youth mental health is ideal.

Most positions require individuals to be available full time, however some 3-4 day posts are available.

These are exciting positions for teachers, that could lead to permanent positions. You will be able to use your skill-set to make a real difference to students education and reduce the detriments of lockdown.
