Computing Teacher

Location: Shropshire
Start Date: Immediate starts available, plus long-term roles from September
Contract: Part-time and full-time opportunities
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Can you explain coding without losing half the class at “algorithm”? Know your Python from your PowerPoint shortcuts? Or stay calm when a student proudly announces they’ve “fixed the computer” by unplugging it? ⌨️

We’re working with secondary schools across Shropshire looking for enthusiastic Computing Teachers to join their teams immediately and for long-term positions starting in September.

Whether you’re an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge or an ECT ready to launch your teaching career, we’ve got flexible opportunities to suit you, with both part-time and full-time roles available.

These schools are looking for teachers who can make Computing engaging, practical, and relevant, helping students build confidence in digital skills that matter both inside and outside the classroom.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Teaching Computing and ICT across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning and delivering engaging and accessible lessons
  • Supporting students of varying abilities to achieve their potential
  • Teaching topics including coding, digital literacy, and computer systems
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Marking, assessment, and contributing to departmental planning

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Hold UK QTS or are completing your teacher training
  • Are an experienced Computing Teacher or an ECT ready to get started
  • Can deliver engaging lessons that build confidence and curiosity
  • Bring strong classroom management and a positive attitude
  • Want to work in supportive schools where staff wellbeing matters
  • Are passionate about preparing young people for an increasingly digital world

Why work with Protocol Education?

  • Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella companies
  • FREE access to our online CPD Academy
  • Dedicated consultant support from people who genuinely understand education
  • Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities
  • Opportunities in mainstream and alternative settings
  • Streamlined registration and local placements
  • Referral scheme rewards for recommending friends and colleagues

ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply. We work with supportive schools that offer experienced mentors, welcoming departments, and guidance to help you build confidence in the classroom from day one.

Apply today and let’s find you a Computing teaching role that’s a perfect match, no troubleshooting required.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Protocol Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
