Protocol Education are looking for a compassionate, resilient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Gateshead.

You'll support pupils with complex needs throughout the school day, helping them access learning, develop independence, communicate effectively and feel confident in their environment.

Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm / 4:30pm
Pay: £98–£120 per day

The Role

You'll provide personalised support to pupils with needs including:

• Autism/ASC
• Moderate and severe learning difficulties
• Complex learning needs
• Speech, language and communication needs
• Sensory needs
• Physical and additional needs
• SEMH and emotional regulation difficulties

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Helping pupils access personalised learning
• Supporting communication and interaction
• Encouraging independence and life skills
• Supporting sensory regulation
• Helping pupils manage transitions
• Promoting positive behaviour
• Following individual support plans
• Supporting classroom activities
• Working closely with teachers and other professionals
• Recording and sharing observations of pupil progress
• Supporting pupils during break and lunchtime

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
