Protocol Education are currently working with a special needs school based in Southwark, who need a special needs teaching assistant to join their team. This role is for a class of students with autism and a range of profound and multiple special needs as well as complex needs such as speech delay, visual impairment and obsessive, compulsive disorder.

To be successful in this role you will need to be patient, compassionate and ready for a challenge. You will be expected to work alongside other external support services such as speech and language therapists and social workers.

This is a full-time support position up until the end of the 2020/2021 academic school year, with a competitive salary.


You will be suitable for this role if you have experience:

·Working in specialist schools such as SEN schools, Pupil Referral Units or in Youth Work.
·Previous support work within a school or other child related experience.
·Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour.
·Happy to work one to one and small group work.
·An enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach.
