Deaf Support Teaching Assistant (BSL Level 2) – Gateshead

A fantastic school in Gateshead is looking to appoint a Deaf Support Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from September.

This rewarding position is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people with hearing impairments and communication difficulties.

Main Duties:

• Providing communication support using British Sign Language
• Assisting pupils during lessons and school activities
• Supporting individual learning plans
• Encouraging confidence and independence
• Promoting positive social interactions
• Monitoring and supporting pupil progress

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Holds a BSL Level 2 qualification
• Has strong communication skills
• Is enthusiastic, reliable and patient
• Has experience working with children or young people (desirable)
• Can drive and travel independently

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
