This job role is an exciting opportunity for an individual who would like to up skill in the area of care work or are seeking a new career venture working in education. As a support assistant, your role will be to keep pupils are at the heart of all you do and be passionate about providing the highest possible standards of teaching and learning opportunities. You will be assisting students who are visually impaired, including those who are on the autistic spectrum, visually and hearing impaired and have more profound learning difficulties with complex needs.

The most important part of your role is to create and promote positive outcomes and behaviour. This is improved by clear boundaries and structure, to create emotional stability and physical safety.

This school has full time roles available at present so to be considered for this role, you must be available 5 days a week, Mon - Fri and be able to work between the hours of 08.30 - 16.00.

Responsibilities:

Managing pupil's behaviour.
Ensuring students engage with lessons, providing academic support and working under the instruction of the class teacher.
Helping the students with their life skills.

You will be suitable if:

You have volunteer or professional experience working with individuals with autism or other complex needs.
Have experience working within an educational setting as either a midday meal supervisor or teaching assistant.
You have good written and verbal English.
You are passionate about working with children with SEN.
