Job description
SEPTEMBER 2018 START
Full Time - Monday-Friday 08.30 - 16.00 school term-time.

A special needs school in Sutton split across two sites is looking for several more teaching assistants to join their team in September to work alongside an experienced special needs teacher.

There has been an increase in headcount on the school roll and increased care responsibility in the classroom. All applicants must have recent experience working with children with special educational needs, in either a primary school or specialist SEN environment. The class consists of 5-8 pupils with a broad range of learning difficulties and complex medical needs.


The ideal candidate:

• A proven record of supporting SEN children with a range of needs.
• Have a basic understanding of PECS and Makaton
• Be willing to learn
• Have a pro-active way of working
• Able to use initiative and follow instructions


We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00
