Job description
Protocol Education are excited to be expanding and recruiting within the school SEN residential care area. As a result, we now have multiple opportunities to support you to further your career, and grow your experience supporting pupils outside of the classrooms. Dependant on your level of experience and capabilities, you may be working with Severe and Multiple Learning Difficulties (SLD / MLD), as well as students with social emotional and mental health (SEMH), and within the Autistic Spectrum.

Location: Barnsley

Shifts: 07:30 14:15 and 13:15 21:45 (flexible rotating shifts standard 4 on, 2 off)

Pay rate: £8.40 per hour (Level 2) £8.60 per hour (Level 3)

Training: Will be provided in the form of a 3-week induction, following success of application.

Requirements of the role:

- You must have at least a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social care.
- You must be available to complete both shift patterns.
- You must have a strong understanding of learning disabilities
- You must have experience in a challenging care or education setting.
- You must be happy to support with personal care needs.

Your duties and responsibilities:

- You will be supporting students with various learning difficulties such as SLD, MLD, Autism and EBD.
- You will be promoting independence and encouraging students to achieve both academically and personally.
- You will be dedicated to the continued care and safeguarding of all of the students under your care.
- You will be supporting residents with health and personnel care needs
- You will help maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive environment
- Developing the ability to build relationships and gain the trust of vulnerable children and young people.
- Flexible rota.
- You will be subject to a DBS check, and prior to working will have to have an up to date DBS registered on the update service.
