As a care support worker, your aim is to support students with their daily lives as well as treat them with respectful and in dignified manner, whilst respecting their privacy. The specialist college provides an engaging and caring learning environment for visually impaired students aged 18 to 25. The college takes pride in creating an environment that ensure students are welcomed, feel safe and that staff treat them well.

The main purpose of the role will be to provide children and their families with the support, care and services they need to live happy, healthy and fruitful lives. Our college put the wellbeing and education of children as their main priority. They have an independent and flexible approach to tailoring innovative solutions to meet the needs of children and their families, whilst sustaining a strong bond and deep commitment to society and public services. An important part of the role is to build professional relationships with children and their families, be resourceful, adaptable and dependable whilst providing a continuous improvement for all.

This is a full-time support position up until the end of the 2020/2021 academic school year, with a competitive salary.


·Managing pupil's behaviour
·Ensuring students engage with lessons, providing academic support and working under the instruction of the class teacher.
·Helping the students with their life skills

For this role, you will have:

·Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools, Pupil Referral Units or in Youth Work.
·Previous support work within a school or other child related experience.
·Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour.
·Happy to work one to one and small group work.
·An enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach.
