Protocol Education are seeking a PMLD Care Support Worker to work in our specialist PMLD day school. Pupils within the school entail profound developmental delay, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, mental and health problems as well as Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Due to the severity of these disabilities and complex medical health needs, people with PMLD often need a lot of support and assistance. We are looking for individuals who will have compassion, patience and respect for the needs of each pupil. The main purpose of the role will be to provide children with the specialist care and they need to live happy, healthy and fruitful lives.

This is a full-time support position up until the end of the 2020/2021 academic school year, with a competitive salary.

Responsibilities:

·Hoisting children.
·Supporting children to the bathroom and during lunch times.
·Ensuring students engage with lessons, providing academic support
·Supporting children develop their social and emotional awareness.
·Helping the students with their life skills.

For this role, you will have:

·Experience working in specialist schools.
·Previous experience with vulnerable adults or children
·Experience working in residential care homes.
·An enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach.
