Protocol Education are currently seeking a committed, enthusiastic and driven Learning Support Assistant at a special needs school in Lewisham supporting children aged 5 to 16 who have SEMH as their main need. Our School takes pride in being a first choice school for parents within Lewisham local authority, for children and young people identified with specific needs. As an LSA your responsibility will be to cater to the learners' needs and ensure they reach their full potential whilst being committed to upholding the schools' values.

The role is for a full-time opportunity starting in the new academic year of September, Monday to Friday, during school hours, and it will run through to the end of the academic year.

Your day to day duties will include:
-Working children with SEMH.
-Supporting their everyday activities and any challenges that they may face.
-Working on a 1:1 basis with individuals.

Ideal candidates will have the following qualities:
-A passion for working in special needs.
-Previous experience of working on a 1:1 basis with individuals.
-An enhanced DBS disclosure on the Update Service, or the willingness to undertake one through us.
- Be able to deal with challenging behaviour from young adults and be able to show a calm approach to this behaviour.
