A special needs school in Hillingdon are looking for an enthusiastic teaching assistant to work with pupils who have Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a 5 day a week basis. You will be supporting primary school children between the ages 4-11 delivering a good work ethic, providing inner confidence for each child, building interpersonal and social skills.

Our excellent client currently has 160 pupils on roll and ensure each pupil has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and are therefore looking for a hard working and proactive individual to provide positive choices about their behaviour in and out of school. The school pride themselves of being an all inclusive school and they have support from outside services like from speech and language therapists and occupational therapists. They believe that each pupil needs to be listened to, and each child is unique; they have a tailored teaching approach and with the small class sizes they achieve this in many different ways.

The role:
• 5 days a week, term time only.
• 8:30-4:00pm.
• Based in the Borough of Hillingdon..
• Working on a long term role starting immediately.

You must have:
• Experience of working with PECs or Makaton.
• At least 1 year of working with autism and challenging behaviour.
• Experience of supporting pupils of a Primary aged.

If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £40.00.
