Daily Expectations & Routine

Morning Routine:
Students arrive from around 8:30am. You will support them as they settle into school, helping regulate emotions and preparing them for the day ahead.

Lessons:
Throughout the day, you will:

• Support students using BSL during lessons
• Break down instructions into accessible communication
• Move around the classroom, not remain static
• Help students stay engaged and focused

Lunch & Social Time:
You will eat alongside students and use this time to:

• Continue building communication skills
• Encourage social interaction
• Support emotional regulation where needed

End of Day:
Students typically leave earlier in SEN settings. Staff remain until between 3:30pm–4:30pm, using this time for:

• Planning
• Progress notes
• Communication logs

Lesson Support Expectations

You will be fully involved in lessons:

• Supporting literacy and communication development
• Reinforcing understanding through BSL
• Encouraging independence
• Providing real-time feedback

Additional Responsibilities

• Supporting emotional regulation
• Working closely with SENCO and therapists
• Helping students develop life skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
