Protocol are looking for learning support assistants/teaching assistants that have experience using British sign language (BSL) to start in September 2020. Successful candidates will be required to support and help the development of students with hearing impairements. Candidates will also have the opportunity to work with visually impaired students in which you will be able to develop an understanding for tactile signing as well as utilising your BSL. As a teaching assistant you will will be required to encourage self confidence, differentiate the work to meet the students needs and create a fun & engaging learning environment for the students across all ages.

Skills and qualifications required:
• Certified in British Sign language (BSL) level 2 or above
• Communicate with parents and carers
• Able to relay BSL from hearing impaired students to non-signing students or adults.
• Excellent strategic & communication skills, the ability to use initiative and that can work well under pressure.
• Positions are subject to an enhance disclosure barred service
