BSL Support Assistant – Specialist Education | Gateshead

Do you have the skills to help learners communicate with confidence? We're recruiting a full-time BSL Support Assistant to work across specialist educational provisions in Gateshead.

This varied role offers the chance to support children and young people with additional needs, ensuring they can fully access learning through effective communication.

In this role, you will:

• Support pupils using British Sign Language
• Facilitate communication between learners and staff
• Encourage engagement and independence
• Assist with classroom learning and wider school activities
• Work across multiple specialist provisions within Gateshead

To be successful, you'll have:

• A BSL qualification or relevant practical experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A flexible, caring and professional approach
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as travel between provisions is essential
