A primary school in Peckham are looking for a versatile LSA who has experience using British sign language to work in their deaf support base. This is a lovely and vibrant mixed school catering for pupils with multiple special needs such as sensory and or physical needs. The deaf support base provides pupils with small group teaching and additional attention and help. You will be required to support pupils with varying SEN needs, mostly affected by physical or sensory impairment on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

Skills and qualifications required:

·Certified in British Sign language (BSL) level 2 or above
·Communicate with parents and carers
·Able to relay BSL from hearing impaired students to non-signing students or adults.
·Excellent strategic & communication skills, the ability to use initiative and that can work well under pressure.
·Positions are subject to an enhance disclosure barred service
