Job description
Protocol are looking for experienced learning support assistants/teaching assistants that specialise in British sign language (BSL) and have experience working within a hearing impaired environment. Successful candidates will be required to support and help the development of sensory impaired students across all ages. In addition, candidates will be required to support academic studies, develop students social and communication skills in hearing impaired SEN settings.

As a specialist signer, successful candidates will need the following skills and qualifications:
• Experience working in a special needs school or with students special needs
• Certified in British sign language (BSL) level 2
• Experience working with early years, primary and secondary students.
• Excellent strategic & communication skills, the ability to use initiative and that can work well under pressure.
• Braille experience would be an advantage
• Positions are subject to an enhance disclosure barred service
