Biology Specialist Teacher Wanted

This Birmingham secondary school are looking to appoint a Science Teacher with a specialism in Biology to a long term supply cover for an immediate start at the beginning of the new academic year due to run through until the end of the academic year. The position is offered on a full time, 5 day a week basis and will see the successful applicant teaching Science to KS3 and KS4 pupils and Biology to KS5 pupils including AS and A Level groups. The school will provide the successful candidate with a half days PPA in their timetable with support from the experienced Head of Department.

You will join a school that has a good reputation, joining a team with real impetus and a dynamic and inspiration leadership team. The school have implemented high standards throughout the school with high expectations of staff and pupils, with staff passionate about their profession, their school and the vision and values that are being embedded throughout the school.

Located within Birmingham LEA the school is found in to the South of the city centre within easy commutable distance from surrounding areas in Birmingham and surrounding areas. This is a large school well above the average sized secondary school. Pupils come from a diverse set of backgrounds with the majority of pupils coming from ethnic minorities with a significant proportion of pupils speaking English as an additional language. The schools catchment area covers an area of significant deprivation with over half of pupils eligible for the pupil premium with a higher than average number of pupils with special needs.
