Job description
Behaviour Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant in a PRU based in South Yorkshire. The position will involve working with complex and vulnerable pupils facing behavioural, emotional and social difficulties on a one to one basis and in small groups as well as supporting the teacher with whole class sessions.

The School is a purpose built Pupil Referral Unit which has Key Stages 3 and 4 plus a nurture group. The classrooms are spacious with an Art and IT suite and it obvious the pupils are proud of their work which is displayed in every classroom.

The school has a welcoming team who are very passionate about the pupils and guiding them to achieve and succeed. The school would benefit from an enthusiastic committed and driven person to join their team.

Pupils can often display difficult behaviour so it is essential the candidate has excellent behaviour management who will not be fazed by sometimes challenging behaviour.

The Role will involve supporting the teacher in the classroom, monitoring , challenging and rewarding behaviour, supporting small groups and on a one to one basis and most of all the candidate will have to be committed to the position.

The person will need to be motivated, resilient and very organised, be able to understand individual needs and deal with complex issues, have strong behaviour management skills and be enthusiastic and have a passion to encourage young people to learn
