Protocol is working in partnership with a forward thinking, innovative pupil referral unit based in South Yorkshire. The unit provides temporary education for 11-16 year olds who require additional support for their behaviours and emotional difficulties. As well as Maths English and ICT the pupils can enjoy a fully resourced Design and Technology workshop and cookery lessons in a fully functional kitchen.
As a flexible Teaching Assistant for this school you will have the opportunity to work with KS3/ KS4 students who need extra support in the classroom with their learning and managing their own behaviour. You will work as part of an exciting and energetic team driving the entire centre forward to success and the pupils to a positive outcome. For the right candidate who embraces this environment there may be opportunities for extended and even permanent positions.
The Centre require a Teaching Assistant who has experience working with challenging young people and will be able to manage behaviours effectively. A Team Teach qualification or similar is required for this role as there will be the occasion where you will be required to de-escalate a situation.
In addition to the above the candidate will have;
Good understanding of literacy and numeracy
Experience in a PRU or similar or experience of EBD
References to cover 2 years of previous employment
An enhanced DBS Check (or be willing to have a new one processed through Protocol)
Legal right to work in the UK
