Job description
We are currently looking for Behaviour Support Workers to work within SEMH schools in the Teesside area. These schools are part of a trust that provides an education for students who can't go to a mainstream school, because of exclusion, illness or other reasons and therefore would not otherwise receive a suitable education.

You will ideally hold a Team Teach certification or be prepared to get one and have a passion for working with young people of all ages. The work can be especially rewarding; however, it can also be challenging too, so you need to be resilient, calm, composed and have the ability to manage challenging behaviour in this setting. Many students have complex communication needs, severe learning difficulties or are autistic and some occasionally challenge and engage in off task behaviours. Many successful candidates have come from a sporting or a coaching background, an art background, have studied Psychology or have worked in care environment or Social Work.

You must have:

• A DBS certificate with a live subscription to the update service or be willing to get one
• Two professional references within the last three years
