Behavioural Support Worker - Leeds

We are seeking a support worker with a good level of understanding and experience in dealing with challenging behaviour. Ideally, the school require someone who is Team Teach trained, or is willing to undergo training. This is to ensure the support of teaching within the school, which will increase staff confidence by responding to challenging behaviour in a positive way.

The role:
The position will be focused in KS2 predominantly with pupils who require positive behaviour support. You will need to act as a role model and mentor to children who are finding the school environment a challenge. Due to the current circumstance that schools are facing, many children will return and have a lack of routine and may struggle to adjust back to normal school life. We need someone who can work effectively with these pupils and help them through that difficult transition period they are about to face.

Have you got what it takes?
We are looking for someone who can support the classroom teachers with individual and/ or groups of learners. This person should have a good understanding of child development.
You will:
•have good literacy and numeracy skills
•be highly motivated, have strong teamwork skills and a 'can do' approach to your work
•be a strong communicator who is a nurturing, patient and positive individual and can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
•have previous experience in a school setting, ideally within KS2.
