One of our Mainstream Primary Schools in Bradford is looking to appoint an experienced SEMH/Behaviour Support Worker to work allongside a Y6 pupil with SEMH difficulties and difficult behaviour.

"This person needs to have the balance of being warm and nurturing, but able to be firm,clear and consistent. They need to be resilient, kind and caring, but also know how to set a tone of no nonsense / no messing around to support a child in meeting their potential in Y6. They should also have a sense of humour, as this will help them to build a rapport with the pupil being supported."


This will be an excellent role for anyone with experience of the challenging behaviour associated with SEMH with ages 4-11


The successful applicant will:
•Have previous experience working with children
•Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Have a calm and consistent approach
•Have experience of working with SEMH
•Have a supporting and encouraging manner with young children and an ability to inspire trust and to motivate the child in their care to integrate and learn through play
•Have the ability to be flexible and to work as part of a team
•Be required to work closely with Class Teachers and staff, Parents, Special Needs Leader and Outside Agencies
•Be able to use their initiative in meeting the needs of the child and in adapting and/or developing activities and games that support the development of the child's independent communication and learning skills.
