As a behaviour support mentor, your role will be to provide support and encouragement to pupils, with the vision to transform their lives for the better, through positive relationships and engaged learning, so that they may become happy and active citizens in their community. The school is committed to creating an inclusive environment for their staff and pupils, treating everyone with dignity and respect where they anticipate and respond positively to different needs and circumstances so that everyone can achieve their potential. A vital part of your role will be to build upon the foundation of the school's curriculum providing high quality teaching and learning. The curriculum is intended to ensure that staff are working to achieve the best possible results for all their students in their lives, especially around long-term outcomes such as employment, living as independently as possible with the greatest degree of self-sufficiency, enjoying good health and wellbeing.

This is a full-time support position up until the end of the 2020/2021 academic school year, with a competitive salary.

Candidates with experience dealing with pupils of these type of needs will be a bonus but it is not a requirement, however the school will still consider your application.

Main Duties:
• Supporting students with work set by the class teacher.
• Helping with the behaviour management of the classroom.
• Working with the teacher to assess pupil's levels and ability.
• Ensuring the schools ethos and policies are being implemented.
• Liaising with parents and carers.
