Job description
An amazing opportunity has become available at a well established alternative provision in Teesside who would like to appoint experienced behaviour support teaching assistants to work across their diverse setting.The provision is part of a multi academy trust and caters for students with needs that are often complex and present in behaviour that challenges. They are a multi site provision and as such it would be beneficial if the right candidate was able to drive.

Your main duties will include:

• Inspiring and engaging with young children with social and emotional difficulties.

• Assessing individual learning needs and working on a group basis.

• Preparing materials, equipment and lessons

• Assessing and reporting on individual pupils' progress

• Working in a challenging environment in a calm and professional manner.

The successful candidates need to have previous experience of working with SEN students and have a strong desire of getting involved in every aspect of the school. They must be professional, engaging and be able to build relationships with hard to reach young people.

Other experience & qualifications desirable:

• Positive handling

• Restorative justice

• First Aid trained

Please note: We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00.
