We're recruiting Behaviour Support Assistants to work in specialist SEND and SEMH schools across South Shields. These settings support pupils who may have experienced barriers to education and need positive role models who can provide consistency, encouragement and structure.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
• Building positive relationships based on trust and respect
• Encouraging emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Working alongside teachers and pastoral teams
• Helping pupils engage with learning and achieve their goals

We'd love to hear from you if you:

• Have experience working with children, young people or within care or support roles
• Remain calm, resilient and adaptable
• Understand that every child is different
• Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or are willing to obtain one
• Can commit to a full-time role from September

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
