Behaviour Support Assistant

An alternative provision in Gateshead is seeking a confident and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support.

This role would suit candidates from youth work, coaching, care, residential support or education backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

• Building positive relationships with pupils
• Supporting behaviour plans and interventions
• Assisting pupils who may be disengaged from education
• Supporting attendance and classroom engagement
• Promoting positive outcomes and emotional wellbeing
• Working alongside pastoral and safeguarding teams

Working Hours:

• Monday: 8:30am – 4:15pm
• Tuesday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
• Wednesday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
• Thursday: 8:30am – 4:15pm
• Friday: 8:30am – 3:00pm

Requirements:

• Experience supporting young people desirable
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply
• Full-time commitment required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
