Job description
Teaching Assistants are needed to work in our Bristol PRU (pupil referral unit). This school support children who have been excluded from mainstream education. Many of the children may have additional needs, diagnosed and undiagnosed. You will be working with challenging behaviour so previous experience is highly desired.

The school is located in South Bristol and the age ranges from primary through to secondary. They pride themselves on being a reflective academy, one which aims to fully understand the reasons behind student behaviour, enabling them to work with students and their families to break down their barriers to learning and allow them to achieve. The school work closely with external professionals, having their own multi-disciplinary team including Educational Psychologist and Speech and Language Specialists who assist staff and students with all manner of challenges and difficulties.

Essential criteria:
*Hands-on attitude
*Brief knowledge and understanding about SEND and challenging behaviour
*Confidence and resilience
*A passion for working in Education
*Previous classroom experience
*Ability to adapt
*Key communication skills

Desirable criteria:
*Previous experience with challenging behaviour
*Training in SEND or a degree in Education
*Team Teach training
* Previous experience in a PRU setting
