A secondary school which caters for boys with social emotional mental health difficulties in the borough of Lambeth is looking for teaching assistants to join their team. The role requires that you work Monday to Friday 08:15 - 16:00 and would be starting after the Easter break.

The ideal candidate for this role will be caring patient individual who has a passion for working with children who have social emotional Mental Health needs.

You will be working on either a 1:1 basis or supporting a small group of students who at times will show challenging behaviour. It's important that you are confident in understanding how behaviour is managed so experience in a professional or personal capacity would be beneficial.

• Confident in managing challenging behaviour.
• Able to come up with creative approaches to keep students engaged with the learning process.
• Available immediately and able to commit for at least 6 months.
• Able to prepare materials for lessons as well as adapt current resources.
• Comfortable assessing a pupil's progress and supporting the class teacher.
• Able to provide a reference from the last two years working with children or vulnerable adults in either a professional or volunteer capacity.

An enhanced DBS is required by law to work with children, if you do not have one on the update service, you must be prepared to apply for one through Protocol Education at the cost of £40.
