Job description
Protocol Education are currently recruiting for experienced SEN teaching assistants to work in SEMH schools across Guildford. Due to our growth we have a number of schools in different locations, so if you are within a commutable distance to this area, we are interested to hear from you. Many of our schools have both Primary and Secondary sites, but if you have a specific preference, we are happy to find you work within that age range.
We currently have a wide range of exciting positions available for either day-to-day or long-term supply with students that have SEMH needs. Our day to day work ranges from anything to 3 to 5 days a week and our long term assignments are 5 days a week; 8:30-3:30pm.
Your main duties will include:
·Assessing individual learning needs and working on a group basis.
·Preparing materials, equipment and lessons
·Assessing and reporting on individual pupils' progress
·Assisting with the personal care needs of pupils; this may include feeding, changing and manual handling.
·Liaising with parents, carers and professionals such as mainstream teachers, education welfare officers, social workers and Healthcare professionals
·The successful candidates need to have previous experience of working with SEN students and have a strong desire of getting involved in every aspect of the school. Experience with children and young adults that have would be preferable.

Other experience & qualifications desirable:
·Team Teach/MAPA qualified
·Positive handling
·Restorative justice
·First Aid trained
·A CACHE level 2 or 3 with childcare
·Successful applicants will be subject to references and an up to date DBS or be willing to apply for a Protocol DBS.
