Specialist schools across South Shields are looking for Behaviour Mentors to support pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional and pastoral support.

You'll be responsible for:

• Acting as a positive role model.
• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis.
• Managing challenging behaviour using positive strategies.
• Encouraging engagement within the classroom.
• Working closely with teaching staff and families.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Previous experience within education, youth work or residential care.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A patient and empathetic approach.
• The ability to remain calm under pressure.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
