We're working with a specialist pupil referral provision in South Shields seeking Behaviour Mentors to join their dedicated team.

Supporting pupils across two sites, this provision focuses on helping young people overcome barriers to learning through positive relationships, consistency and tailored support.

We're looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

What you'll be doing

• Providing behavioural support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Building strong and trusting relationships with pupils
• Assisting pupils during lessons and structured activities
• Working closely with teaching and pastoral teams
• Recording progress and contributing to behaviour support plans

What we're looking for

• Experience supporting young people in education, care or community settings
• Excellent communication skills
• A calm and patient approach
• Confidence managing challenging situations professionally
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
