Are you an experienced behaviour support assistant looking for a new challenge? Do you have a calm and nurturing nature? Have you got experience with young people through youth work, social care or residential services?

Protocol Education are seeking confident support/teaching assistants to join a specialist provision in the Darlington area supporting children and young adults with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Roles are currently available on a day to day and long term basis as the school assess the needs of their learners and new students are introduced.

We are searching for candidates with experience working in specialist units, or experience responding to SEMH needs. This school predominantly caters for secondary students between the ages of 11 to 16 years. Specific qualifications are not necessary for this role although you may benefit from a Teaching Assistant qualification or Team Teach training to help you respond to the needs of thee unit. You will be passionate about improving the lives of young people and confident in responding to challenging behaviour needs which can include both aggression and severe anxiety at times. Ideally you will have access to your own transport.
