Job description
Behaviour & Inclusion Support Worker South Kirklees

We are currently looking for Behaviour Support Worker to work in a SEMH school based in the South Kirklees area. This school provides an education for students who can't go to a mainstream school, because of exclusion, illness or other reasons and therefore would not otherwise receive a suitable education. The groups you would be working with are Key Stage three children that are in transition in to these new environments. You may also be required to support Key Stage four students in lessons and during recreational time.

You will ideally hold a Team Teach certification or be prepared to get one and have a passion for working with young people aged 11-18. The work can be especially rewarding; however, it can also be challenging too, so you need to be resilient, clam, composed and have the ability to manage challenging behaviour in this setting. Many students have complex communication needs, severe learning difficulties or are autistic and some occasionally challenge and engage in off task behaviours. Many successful candidates have come from a sporting or a coaching background, have studied Psychology or have worked in mental health or Social Work.

Protocol Education has been placing teaching professionals in a range of settings for many years. We are a REC accredited and audited company, this means we really take safeguarding seriously and are a leading fully compliant provider within the education sector. We have a large office network that stretches from the North East to the South West and most areas in-between.

Protocol Education adheres to the following from its Support Workers;

• A DBS certificate with a live subscription to the update service or be willing to get one
• Two professional references within the last three years
• Someone who is committed to the safeguarding of young people

Protocol Education will reward you with.........

• Competitive rates of pay.
• We mainly pay you using our own in house pay roll so you won't get charged to get paid!
• Free continuing professional development and training courses such as Team Teach
• Support from a dedicated team that includes ex-teaching professionals.
• Opportunities to work with a wide choice of settings across West Yorkshire
• Ongoing CV, interview advice and support

Please apply on line or call Peter on 0113 246 8220.
