Autism Teaching Assistant – Wallsend (Full-Time)

Protocol Education is recruiting a full-time Autism Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Wallsend. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a range of additional learning needs. You'll work closely with teachers and specialist staff to help learners access education, develop communication skills, build independence and feel confident in the classroom.

Every learner is different, so you'll need to be flexible, patient and willing to understand what works best for each individual. Your support could help turn a difficult morning into a positive day, or a small achievement into a big step forward.

• Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support
• Helping pupils access lessons through clear and structured guidance
• Supporting communication, social interaction and independence
• Using consistent strategies to support emotional regulation
• Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
• Building positive and trusting relationships with learners
• Supporting pupils during transitions and changes to routine
• Working closely with teachers and specialist professionals
• Recognising and celebrating progress, however small

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
