Autism Support Teaching Assistant

Do you have experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)?

A specialist SEND school is seeking dedicated Autism Support Teaching Assistants to work with pupils who benefit from structured routines, visual communication and sensory-informed support.

You will help create a calm and predictable learning environment, supporting pupils with:

• Communication differences
• Sensory processing needs
• Emotional regulation
• Social interaction
• Functional life skills

You may support pupils who are non-speaking or who use alternative communication systems.

The ideal candidate will understand:

• The importance of routine
• Low-arousal approaches
• Positive behaviour support
• Child-led communication

Experience with Makaton, PECS, TEACCH, AAC, or sensory regulation strategies is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
