Job description
Prestigious SEN School in Hillingdon seeking experienced Teaching Assistant for work with ASD pupils.

This award winning special needs school caters to pupils with moderate and complex learning difficulties, including: autistic spectrum disorders; behaviour, emotional and social difficulties; and speech, language and communication disabilities.

They are now seeking an experienced, qualified special needs teaching assistant to join their highly acclaimed team, working full time with students across Early Years, Key Stages 1 and Key Stage 2 with a focus on Autism.

With high expectations, this school are proud to be able to state confidently that the behaviour of their pupils is outstanding. An approach rooted in principles of fairness and equality means that pupils’ learning is never disturbed or disrupted by others, and poor behaviour which is detrimental in any way to the learning and well-being of others is not tolerated. A joy to work with, the pupils at this school are expected to be smart, polite and prepared to learn and support others, and the school recognise the contribution of their excellent teaching and support staff in helping pupils to achieve this.

Pupils make use of excellent facilities like a sensory room, swimming pool and garden. Staff work hard to deliver a tailored curriculum to improve students academic and social development. Progress is monitored closely and parents and carers are heavily involved in students consistent education and behaviour plans.

Working 1-1 and in small groups with Autistic pupils in the School, you will be tasked with creating a safe learning environment and providing regular praise and reward for work completed. You must be patient, able to build confidence in students and improve social skills. You will use strategies to include Autistic students in lessons and group activities and to improve peer to peer relationships.

If you are an experienced ASD Teaching Assistant or have supported children and young people with Autism in another capacity, then the School would be keen to hear from you!

Please apply below.
