Job description
Due to it's success, the SEN unit in this highly regarded School in Uxbridge is expanding in the hope that it can provide more places for Special Needs pupils to access learning in this brilliant facility.

This position is for a SEN Teaching Assistant with a focus on Autism and Speech and Language; working with students across Key Stages 1 and 2 with severe behaviour and communication difficulties.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in SEN support, able to build effective relationships with students and encourage their development through persistence and positive reinforcement. You must effectively differentiate work and follow students individual learning plans (IEP), often working with senior staff, Therapists and parents to ensure support strategies are effective.

Experience using PECS or Makaton as tools to support SEN pupils is highly beneficial.

The School will also consider those with little experience but plenty of drive and ambition to do well with the Education sector.

Above all, the chosen candidate must be patient, proactive and passionate about supporting young people with special needs.

This position is a full-time, long term post, based in the London Borough of Hillingdon with good transport links from Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines. Please apply below with your updated CV.

Please note: We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00.
