Job description
** Ofsted rated 'Good' Primary School in Uxbridge - seeking experienced SENTA to support Austism. **

This dynamic and popular Primary School has been successful in it's inclusion of Special Needs pupils. With it's team of dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistants working across the School, they have been able to provide SEN students with a stable and individualised Primary Education that has been recognised by Ofsted.

Due to it's success, the School is expanding with a view of being able to provide specialist education to students from neighbouring Schools.

The SENTA's work 1-1 and with small groups to raise attainment, confident and improve behaviour. They work in integrating pupils into mainstream classrooms and meet regularly with parents so that strategies and continued at home.

A position has become available for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team, with a focus on Autism in Key Stage 1. These students have severe social and communication difficulties and behaviour is often challenging.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in SEN support, able to build effective relationships with students and encourage their development through persistence and positive reinforcement. You must effectively differentiate work and follow students individual learning plans (IEP), often working with senior staff, Therapists and parents to ensure support strategies are effective.

Experience using PECS or Makaton is highly beneficial.

Above all, the chosen candidate must be patient, proactive and passionate about supporting young people with special needs.
