Do you have a natural ability to connect with young people who see the world differently?
We’re seeking an Autism Support Assistant to work in a nurturing specialist setting, supporting pupils with autism and related communication needs. You’ll be part of a collaborative team helping children develop social, emotional, and academic skills in a safe and structured environment.
Your role will include:

Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small, consistent groups

Using visual supports, communication aids, and sensory strategies

Encouraging independence and positive engagement

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists
Ideal candidates will:

Have experience or understanding of autism and neurodiversity

Show empathy, flexibility, and emotional resilience

Be proactive, reliable, and open to learning
Experience in specialist education is helpful but not essential—what matters most is your patience, positivity, and care.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
