We are working with a highly regarded specialist school in Bristol that supports pupils on the Autistic spectrum with complex needs. The school is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Autism Support Worker to join their dedicated team.
For many pupils with autism, consistency and routine are key, so this is a full-time role, five days a week during the academic year, allowing you to build strong relationships and provide meaningful support to the children in your care.

Full-time role providing consistent school experience
Work within a highly supportive specialist setting
Access to free CPD training, including behaviour management and SEN strategies
Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant
Opportunities for long-term and permanent roles
Supporting pupils with Autism and complex needs
Working 1:1 and in small groups to support learning and development
Assisting with classroom activities and structured learning tasks
Helping pupils with daily routines and transitions throughout the school day
Supporting the delivery and development of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists, and support staff
Have at least one year of experience supporting children with autism
Are confident supporting pupils with complex needs
Are comfortable assisting with personal care when required
Have experience with behaviour management strategies
Have knowledge of PECS or Makaton (desirable but not essential)
Bring a patient, encouraging, and positive attitude to supporting young people
Passport or proof of Right to Work in the UK
Two proofs of address, for example driving licence, utility bill, or council tax letter
CV covering the last 10 years of work or education, with any gaps explained
Two years of references, including childcare or relevant support work
DBS check, we can support you with this if required
Overseas Police Check if you’ve lived abroad for more than three months in the last five years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
