A well-established secondary school in Ashington is seeking a proactive and organised Attendance & Pastoral Support Officer to join their team immediately.

You will work closely with Heads of Year, safeguarding leads and families to reduce persistent absence and remove barriers to learning.

The Role

As an Attendance & Pastoral Support Officer, you will:

• Monitor daily attendance and identify patterns of concern

• Contact parents/carers regarding absence

• Support reintegration meetings for persistent absentees

• Work with vulnerable students to remove attendance barriers

• Liaise with safeguarding and external agencies where required

• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting

You will need to be confident having professional conversations with families and maintaining clear expectations.
