A Durham School is recruiting for an experienced attendance manager to begin work ASAP. There is the opportunity for the position to be made permanent for the right candidate.
The attendance manager will monitor student attendance, liaising with external and internal stakeholders, including staff, students, parents and the wider community.
The school is located in the northern area of county Durham, making it easily accessible via the A1 and public transport routes.
The successful applicant must be experienced in the role and should have good time management skills, be able to meet deadlines and have a flexible approach to work as priorities could change at short notice. A good level of all Microsoft Office Suite applications and excellent numeracy, literacy and ICT skills are essential.

Duties will include:
·Contacting parents and carers
·Following up absences
·First day calling to students who have attendance concerns
·Produce reports regarding attendance and monitoring patterns
·Fill out necessary paperwork and produce evidence of absences
·Sending out letters as necessary in regards to attendance levels
·Arrange meeting with students in school who have under 90% attendance Meet with senior management to discuss absences and highlight any concerns
·Produce paperwork and gather evidence for Penalty Notice fines & maintain spreadsheets for penalty notices and absence Minute meetings
·Respond by letter to Leave of Absence requests
·Lesson registers and any conflicting marks
·Providing attendance data to prospective employers/Further/Higher Education regarding attendance for pupils who have left school
