Job description
A small SEN school with just 55 pupils based in Radlett is a specialist provision for children and young adults with autism and other associated needs. They are opening their doors for new support staff ASAP. This role is a Temp to Perm position starting with a week's trial session, so you can get a true idea of the school and the day to day activities.
Life at this school is always fun and no day is the same. They have a distinct sense of community, helping children and young people feel they belong both in the school and in our wider community is highly important to us. The school staff have a very welcoming, supportive and togetherness attitude. Ongoing training is given to staff to ensure they are kept current and up to date.

Previous experience working with children with varying special educational needs within schools or a specialist SEN environment is preferable but not essential. Or alternatively adults within a residential, out reach or day centre setting.


Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Taking instruction from the teacher
• Working on a 1:1 basis with a child who have ASD
• Assisting with learning and social skills
• Personal care experience is ideal but not essential


The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience and knowledge of SEN
• Patience, empathy, resilience and confidence
• Capable of following instructions as well as the ability to use own initiative
• True passion for helping make a difference in the life of children and young adults
• Quick thinking and adaptable
• Good sense of humour
• Willingness and dedication

Being a driver is ideal due to location of school but not essential

If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00
